The speech of Steve Jobs’ life: messages for palliative care

The Speech of Steve Jobs’ life: messages for palliative care and us all.

From the 2005 Stanford Commencement Address

I emailed Steve about this talk and his cancer diagnosis, suggesting Apple support cancer communication research. He wrote back saying, “Like the ideas, but at this stage no, Steve.”

The best rejection letter I have ever received. And I still have it!!

Take care of yourself, Steve Jobs!

I wrote that when Steve retired, knowing as an oncologist that the disease was marching on. There are so many lessons for us in that speech, particularly now he has died. Share them!

“Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent.”
